A manager, not an absolute owner

Entrepreneurs frequently succumb to the fallacy that they are absolute owners of everything their organizations produce. A more mature perspective, however, views the founder’s role primarily as a manager of resources temporarily entrusted to their care.

Capital, technology and jobs are not mere personal property designed to flatter individual egos but instruments for serving the broader community. When a business leader internalizes the duty of stewardship, their posture toward operational risk and workforce relations shifts fundamentally. Profit ceases to be the sole definition of value, becoming instead the indispensable condition for long-term organizational health and stability.

Strategic choices are no longer governed by short-term gain, but by an acute awareness of the legacy bestowed to future generations. An enterprise rooted in this responsibility never leaves scorched earth behind, but builds enduring value.
