The personal computer market emerged precisely as he was coming of age, opening a window of opportunity that will never repeat itself. The question is not whether he would have been capable without it, but whether he would have become the man we know today. Many today attempt to mechanically replicate the habits of famous founders, believing that discipline guarantees an identical outcome. But the reality is straightforward: you can study and copy someone\u2019s methodology, but you cannot reproduce the year 1975.
