Yet shifting our lens from gross volume to per capita metrics and hourly output changes the narrative entirely. Switzerland commands a GDP per capita exceeding $107,000 compared to approximately $86,000 in the US. Similarly, both Swiss workers ($99.9\/h) and Austrian workers ($85.0\/h) generate more economic value per hour than their American peers ($83.5\/h).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Macroeconomic scale secures geopolitical power, but high output per citizen underpins real standard of living.
